Images and Race

This creates controversy as the girl is obviously scared of the black boy sitting in front of her; her stance conveys that the boy has made her feel uncomfortable. Next to the rape alarm picture it says ‘Because it’s a jungle out there’, this is suggesting that the black boy is some sort of animal found in the jungle when there is no real for them to put that on the advert.
The overall message of this advertisment is conveying that all terrorists are of the same race as on the advertisment only the eyes of the woman are shown and the rest of the page is black block colour which makes it look like the woman is wearing a burkah which is therefore stereotyping terrorists as muslims.
The overall point of this advert is to convey that all racial backgrounds should have equal rights. They have done this in such a way that when you first look at the advert is looks like it is a racist advertisment, because it has the face of a black man with large font next to it saying 'SCARED?'; at first glance the advert would look like its saying are you scared of the black man when really it is not. Underneath the word scared it says 'you should be, hes qa dentist.' This then makes it clear that it is not a racist advertisement.
